FC Barcelona Installs Philips Urban LED 7000 Series LED Wall at Camp Tito Vilanova
FC Barcelona has installed a state-of-the-art Philips Urban LED 7000 Series LED wall at Pitch 1, their official training area, as part of their efforts to upgrade the facility for the upcoming La Liga season. The 18x9.8-foot LED wall, located just beyond the touchline, is not just for a clearer view of the action, but also for deeper levels of analysis.
The installation was completed efficiently and on time, with minimal disruption to the team's training schedule. The LED wall seamlessly integrated into the stadium infrastructure, offering multiple live views of the action and instant replay capabilities. With a high brightness of 6,000 nits and a resolution of 3.9pp, the wall provides a clear and detailed view of the action, even in various weather and lighting conditions in the Catalonian capital, including heavy rain, direct sunlight, and floodlight glare.
The Philips Urban LED 7000 Series LED wall is the largest LED wall in the Middle East and has an IP66 rating, making it resistant to dust and corrosive airborne salt spray from the nearby Mediterranean sea. According to Cesar Sans, sales director for Iberia at PPDS, the display offers new levels of analysis, including player data and tactical decisions.
The installation was done in partnership with PPDS and local LED integration expert, LED Dream. The project manager involved in the installation was Ing. Martin Stachelberger. The LED wall's installation is expected to bring new visual capabilities and detailed analysis to the touchline for both coaching and playing staff, potentially influencing the outcome of games by providing valuable insights.
